Launch: Form a group of 7-10 members that share a common interest.

Directions: You have 2 weeks to create a working website from scratch. Your website should be about something you care about. It can be an issue (such as the environment or health care) or an interest (such as a television show or sports team).

Directions: Visit each of the websites linked from the notes. Read or watch the information at each site. Take notes on the main ideas and any key terms. Be prepared to answer the focus questions at the end.

Political Parties Lecture

Launch:

What are 3-5 political issues you care about? What is your stance on them? Post your answers on your blog.

Examples: Health Care, Gun Control, Welfare, Immigration, Abortion, Drug Legalization, Capital Punishment, Environmental Protection, Same-Sex Marriage, Taxes, etc.



Homework: Invent your own political party. Come up with a name, mission statement, and list of beliefs (platform). Identify which political party your beliefs most closely resemble. Publicize your party by creating a poster that demonstrates these elements.
